Well as anyone who has ever collected knows, eventually you get burned with a fake. No where is this more prevalent than in Third Reich insignia. The following are confirmed fakes which I have been given the unfortunate role of custodian for (AKA - I got swindled !!!). If you are interested in Third Reich collecting I cannot stress this enough: Educate Yourself.

There is a plethora of reference books, forums, and collecting groups available to assist you. Just because a dealer is "Established" does not mean they are honest. Pick a field you are interested in and learn everything you can. Don't drop $800 on a Close Combat Clasp and find out you got a $25.00 reproduction. Estimates of  Third Reich fakes at the last "Show of Shows" by known experts put the count as high as 75%-80% !!!
