Last Updated: July 16th, 2011Hat Insignia
Historical: The Bundesgrenzschutz was created in 1951. The 1st Arm Insignia was the German Eagle patch which was worn on the left arm. In 1970 the tab patch "Bundesgrenzschutz" was added by minister of the interior Genscher. As a result it was referred to as the“Genscher-Bogen”. In 2005 the agency was renamed Bundespolizei and the title "Polizei" was added to the eagle patch. In 2007 the Eagle & Tab designs were phased out and replaced with the current Polizei patch.
