Historical Note: The NYPD Regulation patch was first adopted for wear on July 1, 1971. During the design process, several prototypes were reviewed. These can be seen in the 1st row below

Badge Patches

Historical Note: The NYPD Badge Patches were first designed for use on bike polo shirts. Only the Police Officer, Detective, Sergeant & Lieutenant versions are authorized. The others are unofficial.
